Where to View Famous Hand Blown Glass Art
• Bellagio in Las Vegas
The Fiori di Como is a glass blown chandelier that was masterminded by famous glass artist Dale Chihuly. This amazing glass sculpture, as well as other sculptures like these are viewable in Bellagio’s lobby above the ceilings. The chandelier is actually built using 2000 hand blown blossoms that are extremely colourful.
Some of Chihuly’s other work is in the Bellagio as well including the “Clusters Persians” in the Baccarat Lounge or the “Blue Spears”, which are viewable from the conservatory or botanical gardens. If you’re in Vegas, the Bellagio has a lot of famous glass art.
• Borgata Casino in Atlantic City
The Borgata Hotel & Casino opened in 2003 and is one of the best places to view Chihuly glass art outside of a museum. As soon as you walk in there is a massive chandelier in the lobby that looks like a huge fireball with yellow, orange and red on the piece.
There are a number of other less spectacular chandeliers throughout the Borgata although all of them are breathtaking. There is also glass flowers, glass plants, glass columns and numerous other pieces of Chihuly glass art that is on display throughout the Borgata.
• MGM Grand in Macau
The Fiori di Paradiso Ceiling is one of the largest hand blown glass pieces done by Chihuly and his team. As soon as you walk into the MGM Grand in Macau you’ll see this piece on the ceiling. There are over 1000 glass pieces on the sculpture and it looks incredible.
A famous painting called the “Fiori di Paradiso Drawing Wall” is also located in the lobby at the MGM Grand in Macau. MGM strives to provide their visitors with as much art as possible and there are a number of famous glass art sculptures on display in the hotel.
• Chihuly Garden & Glass in Seattle
If you’re ever in Seattle you have to visit the Chihuly Garden & Glass, as it’s absolutely amazing if you’re into glass art. The exhibition is located at the Seattle Center and boasts a huge 4500 sq foot glasshouse, an outdoor garden and an exhibition hall with glass art.
The exhibition hall has eight galleries with various hand blown glass art on display. The glasshouse has a 100-foot long sculpture and looks incredible at night. The sculpture is suspended in the air and it’s one of the biggest glass art pieces developed by Chihuly.
• Bridge of Glass in Tacoma
The Bridge of Glass was done in partnership between Chihuly and the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. The 500-foot bridge is used as a pedestrian overpass in downtown Tacoma and it’s linked to the museum. Many famous artworks by Chihuly are displayed here.
You’ll be able to view work from multiple series done by Chihuly including Seaform, Persian, Venetian, Ikebana and Putti. There are over 1000+ objects on display at the Bridge of Glass and once you see it in person you’ll wish public art like this was more common.
