Sculptures and statutes are among the best proof of the man’s geniuses. If you have ever watched a sculptor at work then you surely understand what I am talking about. Sculptors create masterpieces from shapeless logs of wood and convert the usually rough shapeless logs into admirable pieces that win our admirations.

Michelangelo is the most famous sculptor of all times. He came up with numerous sculptures but the sculpture of David made him the most famous sculptor to have ever lived. Another very famous statute whose sculptor is still not known is the Venus de Milo. It is still among the most popular statutes of all times. The sculpture is armless but people adore it as it is.

Sculpture and statutes are used for different reasons by the people. To begin with, sculptures and carvings are used to decorate our houses. There is nothing other than a famous painting that captures the attention of the visitor in your living room and around your house than high quality sculptures and statutes. Sculptures add that extra natural feel to your home.

Also, ever since the French people gave the United States the Statute of liberty as a gift and a symbol of the friendship the two countries enjoy, statutes earned a new importance; the ultimate gift to those we value. Instead of buying your friend, colleague or even parents something that they can afford and find in the mall, you need to consider buying something that is hard to come up with an exact replica, however hard you try. The unique nature of sculptures makes them ideal for gifts to our loved one.

Further to that, sculptors make a fortune from their creations. These masterpieces they come up with cost a fortune. The very skilled sculptors earn a comfortable living from these objects of treasure. Just like painting, the sculpture making business requires patience and a nose for perfection. The most famous pieces of arts are as a result constant improvement on the original piece. Sculptures have to be eye catching to sell. Very dull sculptures tend to keep people off as potential buyers can easily by pass them in the workshop without even a second look.

The best buyers of sculptures can be corporate organizations. Some of them don’t even buy the statute but rather help you market them by allowing you to display your works in their premises. This is common in hotel conference halls. You never know who might come along and propose to purchase your work but there is nothing to lose if you can have a free display in an area that receives numerous potential buyers every day.

The most famous statue that stands tall in the in the sky is the statute of that was given as a gift from the people of French to the people of the United States. The French people gave this to the American as a sign of friendship and looking at the relationship between these two nations, the present wouldn’t have been better. It is a monument that grips attention on the first sight attracting large numbers of viewers each day. This is a symbol of unity and friendship.

The revenue the United States government fetches from the Statute of Liberty either directly from the sell of tickets or indirectly through tourists who find the Statute a part of their trip is enormous. There is dire need of dedicated sculptors because human beings have a way of loving and appreciating quality. Just never try making what you have better than is today.

Born in Toronto, of Romanian parents, Daniel Negreanu was the consummate child born of immigrant parents striving for a better life. When he was old enough to drive, Daniel, at age 16, discovered the backrooms and alleys of pool halls, and the game in the back room. Daniel got good fast and dropped out of high school to play poker full time. Quite gambles for a kid a credit shy of the diploma.

Daniel built a pile of money to support his poker playing with, naturally, poker earnings in Toronto. There he met a fellow player, Evelyn Ng. They dated for short period, married and the gambling duo headed for the high stakes; Vegas, baby! Daniel had overestimated his poker playing, however and the couple lost everything. They returned to Toronto in the hopes of rebuilding their lives, less whimsical this time, and a little defeated. Negreanu honed his game, sadly upon the death of his father. At 22, Daniel got serious about his hand. He accumulated enough money to bankroll another venture to Vegas, and the Negreanu headed for the Vegas strip once again, with even more determination.

At 23 years old, Daniel earned the title “best all-around player at Foxwoods’s World Poker Open.” The game was ON. The year 1998 brought him even more accomplishments. Daniel secured his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet and took home an impressive $169 grand. Negreanu was the youngest WSOP bracelet holder in history. It was then Daniel became known as “Kid Poker.” Kid Poker went on to earn three WSOP events. With the knack to play games that are a mix of seven-card stud, Omaha eight-or-better, hold’em, and seven-card stud eight-or-better, Daniel just got better. He accumulated another couple titles, Five Diamond World Poker Classic, and World Poker Tour’s Borgata Poker Open and then earned the title Cardplayer’s Player of the Year as well as the W.S.O.P. Toyota Player of the Year. Kid Poker garnished Over 4.4 million in earnings.

And play the kid did. He slowed down a bit in ’05 but took the next year by storm. Daniel got flush by obtaining more winning titles, W.S.O.P. Circuit Championship event in Tunica for $755,000, placing fifth at the National Heads Up Poker Championship, and eventually taking second at the Tournament of Champions, 2005 WPT Player of the Year. He was a star on Late Night Poker, High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark, and the Poker Superstars Invitational tournament too. What does Kid Poker claim is the secret to his success? “Don’t do anything stupid,” he says.

So what was left for Negreanu to conquer, How about on line and video poker? Daniel established Full Contact Poker, an online card room. He became a part of Team Poker Stars and Daniel became the poker game, Kid Poker became main character, Stacked with Daniel Negreanu.

Daniel is now divorced, twice, is a Vegas Vegan and is still involved with poker games. Daniel Negreanu’s worth was estimated at over nine million dollars in 2009. A lump sum of money that signifies that he is no kid when it boils down to playing cards smartly.

The creative arts industry has been gaining popularity by day. A previously disregarded occupation is now attracting more and more art enthusiasts who are determined and awed by the past famous pieces of arts. The world is full of talented and unique humans whose work leaves us all marveling and wishing. There are paintings that were professionally done, and feel so real that you would want to reach out and hug the painting or you find yourself just smiling, as it does happen to me every time I spot Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Mona Lisa, the world’s most famous painting ever is a real creation of a genius. Any painter would desire to come up with a painting of this caliber. When the Mona Lisa was first taken to the United States in 1960; it almost became as equally popular as the then president of the United State JF Kennedy. Dozens of people came to take a glimpse at this smiling painting whose smile felt so real, so relaxed and so humble. The reason the Mona Lisa is still famous to date is because Leonardo gave it his best, taking 20 years to complete the painting.

What do we learn here, a great work that you strongly believe in should never be rushed over, and you need to take time. It is unfortunate that finding this kind of dedication from the current breed of painters is a pipe dream, they don’t exist. The main reason is that people are into painting mainly for financial reasons. Most painters would rather rush over a painting of someone famous and clear in a few months and rush to the market to try and get a deal from it. Da Vinci loved his work so much that he spent twenty years polishing that so like-real-smile on Mona Lisa.

Passion for a job is another major motivator in the creative industry. For one to come up with quality, you must love what you do. For the twenty years Da Vinci worked on Mona Lisa, it is reported that he never lost sight of it. He would take the painting to wherever place nature would take him and constantly paint and be in awe as the face of the beautiful smiling woman came into sharp focus. This type of dedication and passion is what leads to quality pieces of works of the standard of Mona Lisa. Passion for painting is a better motivator than the monetary desire, you will end up with paintings that would be bought cheaply by some cheap buyer and they will finally end up in some cheap room where only two eyes will ever set their eyes on it, the owner.

Never give up. Yes, this is what kept Da Vinci going. He believed that whatever he was making was supposed to be a masterpiece and hence he ensured that he would do and redo as many times as possible without kicking the brushes and paintings in frustration and call it quit. However, he would seat back and review whatever he was seeing with his eyes and compare with whatever he had in mind. Until the day he was convinced that he had hit the spot, that is the day he danced round and round in excitement.

Come on, in case you do an exemplary job, and there is no one in vicinity to share your joys, don’t you kick the air alone and clap your hands saying “finally! Finally! I did it!” Quality is appreciated in creative industry and if you come up a masterpiece, there wont be need for you to waste your breath praising yourself, just come up with that famous piece of art and all you will have to do is spread that Mona Lisa smile on your face and let people shower you with praises as they offer millions to purchase your work, If Leonardo did it, you can too!

Famous paintings play a crucial role in our society today. Some of these works were done centuries ago but their effect and importance is still felt today. They are famous because they are of superior quality. There are different roles portraits play in the society today. To begin with, they take us down the memory lane.

History should be guarded closely and that is why most famous pieces of arts are heavily guarded is because they depict a history, a history that we need never to forget. An example of a painting that depicts rich history is Guernica, one of Pablo Picasso most famous paintings. When German bombers hit the Basque town of Guernica on claims that they were supporting General Franco’s nationalist forces during the Spanish Civil war, Picasso reached for Paint and worked on Guernica. Currently, the painting that was completed in June 1937 can be viewed at Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid. Looking at the painting, you see the suffering the people might have undergone when the city was bombed. History teachers find this piece of information a complimentary to their theory class work. The history of Spain is partially shared in the painting.

Paintings also earn the governments a lot of revenue. People flock museums to taka a look from far and wide. Most of these people are tourists that earn governments the much needed foreign exchange. Mona Lisa, the world’s most famous portrait that hangs in Louvre in Paris attracts a whopping six million views every year, and majority of these are tourist that visit the French capital. A trip to Paris is actually incomplete without taking a look at the smiling face of that beautiful face, Leonardo Da Vinci should have lived longer than he did to realize the benefits the portrait he worked on for almost 20 years is appreciated. The French government has so far fetched a fortune from this painting and the numbers are still growing.

New painters usually motivates by these ancient masterpieces. By taking a look at what others did decades ago and comparing with their own works, the new artist are likely to find ways to fine tune their own paintings. Not all paintings can match Mona Lisa but at least, a painter would realize that quality is achievable in this industry. However, painters today have a different form of motivation, they dwell so much on the how to cash in on their paintings. As a result, they come up with numerous paintings of sorrow quality that don’t fetch much from the market. Painting requires passion and dedication as opposed to the mere drive for money.

Finally, these pieces of art are a depiction of our society, the evils and the goods and the culture. Painters, like writers share their views through the ink. They communicate messages, share information, and discourage evil practices in the society. They make our society conscious of its actions and desist from committing actions that might harm another member of the very society. There are numerous paintings about wars that are meant to discourage a recurrence of the same in future. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

There have been over the years a number of works of art that in one way or another depicted the game of poker. The question here is which of these pieces of art can appeal not only to the public at large but the poker playing community specifically. There has been a number of pieces of art that have appealed to the poker playing community, in fact they have become famous enough in their own right to become a familiar part of the social consciousness.

There are set of paintings that are now known simply as the “Dog Playing Poker” paintings. There are a total of sixteen paintings all depicting dogs going about conducting business as if they were people, nine of these sixteen painting are of dogs playing poker around a table much as people would do. These painting were done by a man called C.M Coolidge, called “Cash” by his friends. Last year two of those poker dog paintings were being sold at an auction at the Doyle at New York annual Dog in Art Auction. These paintings were expected to bring collectively almost $50 thousand dollars instead garnered almost $600,000.

The artist Coolidge was born in Antwerp, New York in the year 1844. He was not originally working as an artist; he was first a shop keeper and then a banker. Most actually very little is known about whether Coolidge had any real or formal education in painting in his early life. At a friend’s advice he did later receive some proper art instruction and upgraded his skills.

Coolidge began painting the “dogs” as a promotional marketing piece for local tobacconists. The cigar companies could use the paintings as artwork on their cigar box lids. It was in 1903 after Coolidge had been painting dogs in human situation for almost 30 years that he was approached by the firm Brown and Bigelow to paint dogs in various situations for promotional work. They offered him $10,000 dollars for two paintings, remember this is 1903. He would go on to do 16 paintings for the firm.

There were nine paintings altogether and each of them tells of the best online poker sites. This makes the paintings all the more interesting and valuable because not only is there a definitive theme but they are after a fashion a set. These paintings have been a favorite of people all over the world, mostly in the recreational rooms and home bars. Bars and taverns all over the world have had one or more of these paintings hanging over the bar. Not only this but there have been numerous posters, baseball caps, t shirts, post cards, playing cards, greeting cards and all sorts of other promotional and novelty items depicting these paintings. The originals have been highly prized and coveted by collectors for decades. These paintings have gathered quite a following to them considering they started as nothing more as a cigar box promotion. Now they have brought half a million dollars for two paintings. There is money in poker art too.

People flock to the city of Las Vegas all year round. The city has been a center of luxury and gambling in North America for decades now. There are so many high end casinos and luxury hotels in Las Vegas and these establishments are always full. The city of Las Vegas truly never sleeps. That being said in the middle of all this there is an incredible art gallery right in the heart of this gambling paradise, connected to a casino no less.

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is a premiere exhibition site in the center of Bellagio Hotel and Casino. This Tilt.org poker gallery is hosting and showing some of the most compelling contemporary art of the world today. The gallery has gained enough notoriety and enough prestige to be able to enter into partnerships with other galleries and museums from around the world.

At the current time the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is hosting the Figuratively Speaking: survey of the human form exhibition. This collection of fine art from around the world all has one single definitive theme; the human figure in art, painting and sculpture.

Poker is one of those few games that never lose its popularity. Thousands of people today play poker on the internet while several still love the lure of the glitzy and glamorous casinos in Las Vegas. Several new innovations have come about in the last few years and the introduction of online casinos is among the most important in the gaming industry. For wptpoker.com players, one of the other attractions today are the poker tournaments. There are several different types of poker tournaments today that take place online as well as in land based events. Given below are the four main types of tournaments:

· Elimination tournaments

· Rebuy tournaments

· Shootout tournaments

· Satellite tournaments

Elimination poker tournaments

Among the most popular and common poker tournaments today is the elimination format. There are a large number of elimination style poker tournaments that are conducted every year. You will be able to find these tournaments even online. With the elimination format, the game will continue until a single participant has all of the chips. A few participants would be eliminated in each round. At the beginning of the tournament every player will be provided the same number of chips.

Shootout poker tournaments

Shootout poker tournaments are not very different than the elimination tournaments and are generally considered to be a variation of the elimination tournaments. With this type of format, the game will continue till there is a single player in every group. At that time, the players will be brought together for the last round of the game. When there is only one player remaining in the game with all the chips, the tournament would end.

Rebuy poker tournaments

Rebuy poker tournaments are quite different than the elimination tournaments. With the rebuy format, the players will start the game with the same number of chips. However, those who end up losing all of their chips may rebuy the chips if they want to continue in the game. In several instances, the rebuy option will only be available to the players up to a certain stage in the tournament.

Satellite poker tournaments

Satellite poker tournaments have become really popular in the last few years. Basically, a satellite tournament is like the preliminary round for a larger tournament. In these tournaments players will compete and the winning player will advance to the main poker event. In several of these tournaments, the player would be awarded a paid fee to the main event of the competition. With several high end poker tournaments becoming mainstream and popular today like WSOP, the popularity of these satellite tournaments has increased tremendously over the last few years.

The traditional poker tournaments have been popular and have been liked by players since decades now. However, during recent times the online poker tournaments that are conducted by a wide range of casinos and poker rooms are also receiving much popularity. Before you select virtual tournaments to participate it would be necessary for you to understand everything about it.

Chips, bets and antes

Before you participate in one of the tournaments online the most important information for you would be about the chips, bets and antes. To ensure that the tournament would go on to become increasingly interesting, the antes and blinds are increased at predetermined intervals. According to the stage of the tournament, the blind levels would gradually go up in a pre-structured format. Like with any other type of tournament, the players would all begin with the same amount of chips. The tournament will then continue till player has all the chips and the rest have been eliminated from the game.

Types of tournaments

There are several different types of poker tournaments that can be found online. A single table in a tournament may have ten players while there may be hundreds in all on multiple tables participating in a single tournament. In online tournaments, the winning player normally does not win the entire prize pool but the prize money is distributed among the winner and the top most positions. There are also variations in the kind of poker game that would be played. The multi table tournaments would generally be scheduled for a fixed amount of time and may include thousands of players at once.

The satellite online poker tournaments are the ones where the top prize is not a monetary prize but a paid seat at a larger, more prestigious tournament like the world series of poker. The prize for such tournaments may also cover hotel charges, ticket package as well as spending money for the tournament. One of the motives of these poker tournaments is to provide deserving players a chance to take part in prestigious tournaments where the buy-ins are normally not affordable for all. Sit n Go poker tournaments are also very popular online and the tournament would start as soon as there are enough players on the table. Freezeouts is another form of tournament and when the chips run out in this tournament, the player would have to leave since there would be no rebuy option. On the other hand, the rebuy a tournament is where a player will have the option to purchase more chips once his/her chips have all been lost at the table. The number of rebuys allowed in a tournament can be limited or unlimited, depending on the rules and policies of the poker room arranging the tournament.

Generic PokerStar Strategy – How lose or tight should you play?

One of the most common questions that beginners in pokers ask is how loose or tight should you play? Specifically, this question relates to the percentage of pre flop hands that should be played. This is a generic poker strategy that should be learned by every single player. Poker is a game where no strategy would work 100% of the time and will have to be adjust according to the situation and the tendencies and actions of the opponents. There are no answers that suit all players. Experienced players would always be better playing post flop and so they can play more hands. However, for beginners it is best to stick to a tight game. Since you would have less experience post flop you may make a lot of mistakes that can cost you money.

Generic poker strategy for full ring cash games

In cash games with around ten players on the table, it is best to play less than 20% of your hands. If you are a tight player then you may even be playing only 10% of your hands preflop. This can be a winning strategy for low stake games. However, when you do play a hand you must raise preflop and must never open the game in a limp fashion. Always ask yourself why when you call preflop.

Generic poker strategy for six handed games

Since a few of the opponents would be stripped out in six handed games you must play a little loose. You can play roughly the same as any nine handed game and raise fewer hands when you are under the gun and more when you are on the button or cutoff. The reason is that you would be the last to act postflop. In any type of poker, the position is a very important consideration for all your actions.

Generic poker strategy for MTT tournaments

In tournaments, you should start out by playing a very tight game since the blinds would be worth while compared to the stack. You can play maximum 15% of the starting hands during this stage of the game. As the blinds continue to go up and they are worth stealing, you can play morehands from the late position. There are also several types of hands that can change through the tournament. Small pairs, small suited aces, suited connectors are all hands where the value will depend on the stage of the tournament.

Generic poker strategy for sit n go games

Like the MTT tournaments, even for sit n go games you can start with a tight game and then later on become a little loose. Consider stealing the blinds at every opportunity you get during the mid level of the game and always make your decisions based on your position on the table.
